Putting wine knowledge to the challenge at Vinopolis
Vinopolis offers three exciting wine challenges guaranteed to be great teambuilding activities for all corporates. Each package teaches delegates to develop their palates whilst adding an exciting competitive edge through a prize-winning opportunity for the guest who proves to have the most discerning palate!

In the Original Wine Challenge guests are offered a glass of champagne prior to being taken through the art of blind wine tasting. Delegates try six different wines whilst experts show them how to determine features such as colour, nose and palate. Following this guests are presented with two further wines, this time with concealed identities. The challenge is therefore to identify factors such as grape variety, country of origin and vintage, with the ultimate aim of making an educated guess as to what the wine is. The delegate who proves to be most successful at this task will then receive a prize.

The Epicurean Challenge offers delegates the chance to learn about the classic wine regions of the world and experiment with food and wine pairing. After receiving a glass of champagne, Vinopolis’ wine experts teach guests about the speciality varietals and ‘terroir’ of three wines from the vineyards of Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley or Italy. Following this a selection of food dishes are served and guests are challenged to select an appropriate wine to accompany each dish from an assortment of wines with concealed identities. Again, the delegate who is able to do this task with most success will receive a prize.

The Vinopolis Champagne Challenge teaches delegates how to determine the different tastes and smells of a selection of Ruinart champagnes, ranging from £35-£200 a bottle. As Ruinart is the oldest and one of the most critically acclaimed champagne houses today, the selection of champagnes provided are exquisite and the delegate who proves to have the most astute palate given the opportunity to win a magnum of 1996 Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blanc worth over £400!

The Original Wine Challenge costs from £60 ex VAT per head and is available for 20 – 80 guests.
