Château Lagrezette – a luxury addition to Vinopolis
Boutique Malbec wine producer Château Lagrezette has joined forces with Vinopolis to educate and enchant visitors about the small area (20,000 inhabitants) of Cahors situated in the South West France which is the original home of the Malbec grape. An earthy and fruity black grape, Malbec has been given a new lease of life by its obvious success in Argentina, and Château Lagrezette will be challenging the modern perception that Malbec wine is Argentinean.

The new Château Lagrezette room at Vinopolis tells the fascinating tale of one man’s crusade (Monsieur Alain Dominique Perrin, previously head of the Richemont Group – the French luxury goods-group behind Cartier, Montblanc, Dunhill, Chloé) to restore a 15th Century château that had been neglected for over a century and its dying vineyard. Monsieur Perrin, with help from oenologist Michel Rolland breathed new life into the region, by creating a state of the art wine production facility and a new chapter in the history of Cahors wines.

More than 500 years of Malbec wine tradition will be brought to life on the last three Sundays in June where Vinopolis will be offering visitors to the tour a complimentary sampling of wine from Château Lagrezette.  Thereafter their wine will be available on the premium wine table in the tour.
